The world has been ravaged by a series of climatic disasters and society is on the verge of total breakdown. Now the aliens introduced in the original Crysis have returned with a full invasion force, bent on nothing less than the total annihilation of mankind. Part one of their plan is simple: To rip the heart out of Earth's most iconic city.
In New York, the alien invaders stalk the streets and a nightmare plague strikes down the city's myriad inhabitants with brutal epidemic speed. Its systems are in chaos, its streets and skyline are smashed and in flaming ruin. This is New York City as never seen before.
Neither paramilitary law enforcement nor the might of the US military machine can stand against the invaders, and all who choose not to flee are dead men walking. Surviving in this maelstrom of death will require technology beyond anything any modern soldier has ever seen. One man will inherit those means to survive.
One supersoldier, wielding the combat technology of the future with Nanosuit 2.0, will make a last stand in this urban jungle in a bid to save humanity from destruction.

Crysis 2 features a more advanced multiplayer than any of the previous games of the series. This includes a new XP system, Class Customization, 6 Game Modes with variants and Support bonuses. There are 12 maps set in New York City, 256 unique dog tags to collect, 519 Skill Assessments, 23 upgradeable suit modules, 50 ranks to obtain and you can "reboot" the Nanosuit back to level 1 up to five times. Up to 16 players can be playing in a match at one time. An entire studio is working on Crysis 2 multiplayer on its own. Crytek UK are in charge of the game's multiplayer component. Teams are broken down into equal numbers and placed into teams, Marines & C.E.L.L. The Marines are announced by Colonel Barclay, while the C.E.L.L are announced by Tara Strickland.

Jacob hargreave
Hargreave had a fallout with Prophet following his return from Lingshan, who had learned of Hargreave's machination of the events at Lingshan. As a result, Prophet stole the Nanosuit 2.0, forcing Hargreave into having C.E.L.L. hunt down Prophet and bring the suit back intact in a Ceph infested New York City. Hargreave eventually learned that Prophet had died and the suit was passed on to Alcatraz, whose suit Hargreave remotely rebooted following his botched capture by C.E.L.L. before properly introducing himself. Hargreave allied with Alcatraz in guiding him to test whether the Nanosuit's systems can interface with the aliens' technology. The experiment fails due to the Nanosuit not being powerful enough to endure the insertion. Hargreave loses contact with Alcatraz after the latter is swept away by a flood caused by the US Marines in an effort to drown the Ceph despite Hargreave trying to extract Alcatraz by helicopter.
Hargreave later reconnected with Alcatraz and reveals that the Nanosuit is busy analyzing the alien tissue samples that Alcatraz had previously recovered and is rewriting its own code to interface with alien technology.

Nathan Gould

Gould's knowledge was a target of the Crynet Systems's C.E.L.L.forces, who hunted him until he was rescued by Alcatraz. Gould mistook the nanosuit soldier for Prophet until learning his true identity. Gould scanned the nanosuit and learned that it was fused with alienDNA and could be used as a bioweapon, directing Alcatraz to use the nanosuit cradle at the C.E.L.L. Nanotech Facility to learn more. They traveled there and began scanning the suit, realizing that it was fusing with his body, but they were captured by Commander Dominic Lockhart and Tara Strickland before they could get more information.

Alcatraz

"Alcatraz" is the protagonist in Crysis 2 and the novel Crysis: Legion, which contains additional personal background about him. He is a Force Recon Marine originally sent to New York City to (unknowingly) combat the Ceph, before receiving the Crynet Nanosuit 2.0 fromProphet, and ultimately becomes a "reincarnation" of Laurence Barnes, as shown in Crysis 3, having merged with the original's personality and conscious being stored within the nanosuit.
Alcatraz grew up in a Christian family and went to church religiously prior to enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.[1]
Alcatraz enlisted as a Force Recon Marine in the USMC just before theLingshan Incident took place. Despite having severe aquaphobia after nearly drowning at the age of eight, he ranked third during the Marine Corps open water trials. His first deployment was to Sri Lanka to assist with riot clean up in Colombo, Kandy and Galle. During Crysis 2, he and his unit are sent via submarine to assist Prophet with the evacuation of Dr. Nathan Gould from New York City. He is twenty-four years old during the events of Crysis 2.[1]
